We are protected by the language,...in Brazil.

The art of Luis Camões cannot be qualified by a common person. The precision of the Portuguese  language made a poesy, the theme that sorrounds the portuguese discovery of new words. All is perfect in this great narrative (Os Lusiadas).
It is with no doubts one of the major literary books of all times.

Luis de Camões can only be compared with other major writers of the word literacy, like Shakspeare, Miguel de Cervantes, Eça de Queirós, Fernanado Pessoa and a few more.
I would like to add something interesting about Camões:
In the year 1528, he was travelling by ship with his girlfriend but the ship sank and he could save only his book ( Os lusiadas). His girlfriend died and he of course made a poem for her. The poem is:

Alma minha gentil que te partiste

Tão cedo desta vida descontente
Repousa lá no céu eternamente
